Recipe Ingredients
With just a handful of simple ingredients with Asian flavors, you'll have these crab Rangoon nachos on the table in no time!
- Crab - I'm usually a fan of real crab meat but for this recipe, imitation crab meat is perfect (though you can definitely use either). You might find it called surimi, kani, kamaboko stick or crab sticks. Leftovers are a delish dinner in this garlic butter sautéed imitation crab recipe or Japanese-style mango kani salad.
- Sweet chili sauce - aka Thai chili sauce is a delicious not-too-spicy sauce that will get your taste buds going. This sweet and sour sauce is piquant with a hit of garlic and pairs up with the creamy crab mixture on each layer of chips. Leftovers are great for dipping egg rolls or topping fried rice.
- Garlic chili oil - This is the spicy stuff that makes everything pop. This gets drizzled over after the nachos are cooked.
See recipe card for quantities.
Substitutions + Variations
- Chips - Want to make your own? Heat oil and quickly deep fry wonton wrappers until golden brown for crispy wonton chips.
- Less Spicy - Omit the garlic chili oil and reduce or omit the sweet chili sauce if you prefer.
- Hot Sauce - If you don't have the garlic chili oil, feel free to sub in a drizzle of your favorite hot sauce over the hot crab rangoon nachos.
