Canned Salmon
Full of sweet flavor and healthy fatty acids, salmon is my personal favorite. In addition to these recipes, try it in chunks on a fish board or whipped up with cream cheese, horseradish, lemon juice and hot sauce as a dip or spread for crackers.

Canned Lobster
Canned lobster meat is one of my cheap tricks to a fancy meal on a budget. Found in the refrigerator or freezer section of grocery stores, tinned lobster is also a great way to enjoy this luxurious ingredient without the hassle of cooking and shelling it.

Canned Sardines
Sardines are a wine bar staple in Mediterranean countries and often served straight out of the tin as a tapas or appetizer with some bread, olives, and a little wine or dry sherry. Scandinavian countries pair them up with rye bread, butter and dill as a smorgasbord. Here are some other fun recipes like Indian fish tikka, Mexican tomato sardines and sardine cakes. Whichever canned fish recipe you choose, they are perfect to enjoy while watching a sunset or romantic movie.

Canned Anchovies
Anchovies are a panty staple in my house, or should I say a fridge staple as they generally need to be kept refrigerated. I usually use them to add flavor to dishes but here are some awesome, tasty ways to use them as the star ingredient. I use canned anchovies in salad dressings, mashed with good butter to smear on crusty bread, and in pasta sauces. The best ones top my freshly baked pizza.

Canned Mackerel
Wild caught canned mackerel is a healthy and sustainable option and a great alternative to a can of tuna. The canning process makes the bones perfectly edible and a great source of calcium. Did you know that one serving contains approximately 25% of your daily recommended intake of calcium? Bring it on!

Canned Tuna
Possibly the most popular and versatile varieties of canned fish is canned tuna. Also known as chicken-of-the-sea, it's a classic for tuna sandwiches and tuna casserole. It's also a fantastic, high-protein topper for salads and rice bowls. You can buy basic, water packed tuna or tuna packed in extra-virgin olive oil. There are many other flavor combinations you'll find on the shelves of cute shops and specialty grocers, too.
