Fresh, fast and delicious, strawberries get blitzed with lemon and sugar for a fabulous French fruit sauce. Drizzle this over cheesecake, chocolate cake, vanilla cake or ice cream for a delicious dessert. Makes approx 1.5 cups of sauce.
4tablespoonSugargranulated white, raw or brown sugar
1tablespoonLemon Juice
Instructions
Place all berries in your food processor or a deep, narrow cup meant for your immersion blender. Add sugar and lemon then turn on processor or blender and blend until strawberries are well pureed.
Taste and add extra lemon juice or sugar to taste if needed. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
If your strawberries are not very ripe, you may need to add more sugar. If the berries are overly ripe, you may need more lemon juice.You do not need to strain this coulis but if you'd like an extra smooth sauce, you can if you like.
